Chateau Paulet Bottle Catalogue (last updated: Oct 5, 2024)

242 bottles, but still not complete (only half bottles and up)

Introduction

Chateau Paulet was founded in 1848 in Jarnac by Jean-Maurice Lacroux. They used to have vineyards in the grande champagne and fins bois districts and also bought large quantities from the borderies. They got into trouble in the mid-seventies and were eventually taken over by the Renaud-Cointreau Group. Descendants of the Lacroux family have been active for several decades after the take-over, but today the brand is not longer in production.

They have been using two different emblems: a coat of arms at first and later on a stylized image of their castle. Often both emblems were used in combination. And for their brand name both Paulet and Chateau Paulet have been used.

  1. I fond one bottle of old stock from Baijiu shop in Chengdu city of China , That’s very raw and amazing keeping long item for cognac VSOP , we may know the value is not grow up but for collection will be perfect ,and hoping for auction it if good value for it .

  2. we received this Cognac as a gift from a grandfather’s cellar of friends. we don’t immediately find it in your list or elsewhere. can you give us more information about this? what year he is and what value she has, thank you. regards Marc

    • Hello Marc,

You are correct, I don’t have it on my page. The photo you posted is a bit small, so I can’t make out what is it. It looks like a VSOP from the late 1960s or early 1970s.
Could you send me some more photo’s of it if I mail you to make that easier?

      Best regards,
      Ton

  3. Hey there!

Got this as a Christmas present. Can you tell me what it is worth? I cannot find one like that anywhere on the internet.

    thanks,
    Chris

    • Hi,
This is a good cognac and old too. You should try to get over €300 for this bottle, maybe over €500 even, since prices are sky high nowadays.
But you have to be a little lucky. I have seen these bottles go for under €100, because of lack of interest in a particular auction.
A year ago I would have estimated €200-300.
      Good luck,
      Ton
      PS. nice Christmas present!

        • Like it says: age inconnu. It has very probably aged for over 50 years in a cask before being bottled. And I think this was bottled in the 1970s or early 1980s.
For selling I think Catawiki could be a good choice. I advice to use a reserve price.
          Regards,
          Ton

  4. if you are maybe so kind and email me so that I can attach the different photos ? thank you so so much. Laura
we found 50 bottles and there are 9 different types but to me they all look so similar. so if you could please help w pricing these and maybe also give us some tips as to how to sell ? thank you so much

  5. hello. my mother and I found this collection in my fathers cellar. he himself is no longer with us on earth and neither my mom or I have any idea of the cost or what to do with this now ? in total we found close to 50 bottles of all sorts. I attach images of the different kinds and if you or someone you know could help us with pricing them and/ or selling them we would be so happy. I have spent hours already looking online and they all look so similar and its confusing plus I know NOTHING of alcohol. thank you so much. I just tried to attach all the images and it did not work. if you are maybe so kind and email me so that I can attach the different photos ? thank you so so much. Laura

  6. Hola, tengo también unos coñac que me gustaría saber de que años son y que precio tendrían, y que diferencia hay entre estos dos botellas de Martell. Muchas gracias por su tiempo.
    Saludos

    • Hello Paul,
The Martell with the blue label is from the 1980s, the one with the ecru label was made between 1978 and 1985. I think the Tallefort was made in the 1980s too.
Prices to expect for the bottles are prices in Europe and in euro’s. I wouldn’t know how much they will do in Peru.
The Tallefort about €80-100. The blue Martell between €100 and 200 and the ecru Martell €300-350.
      Best regards,
      Ton

      • Additional comment: prices are still going up. Last month a Cordon Bleu with a blue label was sold for over €400 on an auction.
        Ton

        • Yes they are. Unless they weren’t stored properly (lying down) and the cork is affected by the alcohol. Or the bottle has been exposed to excessive sunlight during a long period.

  7. We found an old bottle in our grandmas cellar that is not yet listed on your page. Do you have an idea what date it could be?
    Many greetings,
    Eckhard Gerauer

    • Hi,

I guess this one is from the 1950s.
If posible I would like to have a somewhat better picture of the bottle to put on the Paulet page. And also from the back if there is any additional information on it.
I’ll send you an e-mail, because it is probably more handy to send pictures by mail.

      Sincere,
      Ton
